The Rescuers (1977): Bernard, Bianca, and an Underappreciated Disney Era
Revisit Disney's 1977 animated adventure and see how Bernard and Bianca fit into the studio's film-history timeline.
The film and its era
The Rescuers arrived in 1977, following Bernard and Miss Bianca of the Rescue Aid Society on a mission to help a young girl.
Why its imagery endures
Compared with some Disney princess or mascot properties, the film's cast may be less prominent in everyday merchandise displays, making its characters an interesting focus for a film-by-film collection.
Collector notes
For a complete Disney animation timeline, record the film title and original release year separately from each collectible's production year. This prevents an anniversary item from being mistaken for an original-era piece.
